| The Hidden City of Mavae. Home to the Mer-people. This city is known to few and sought out by many as it is said the Mer-people guard a mysterious and powerful treasure. The Mer-people are a friendly, helpful and curious race. They have the ability to gain human form and walk freely on land but can not do so for very long. Though they rarely visit the surface world they have been known to aid lost or distressed sailors and fishermen. They commune with all aquatic life. They dare not speak on land for on land their voices are heard as unbearable shrieks and cries. Underwater, however, there voices are soft and melodious.

One of the seven princes of Hell, The Leviathan offers aid to his brethren of the sea and will aid them in dire circumstances. The Leviathan also offers wisdom, as he is the oceans oldest living creature. Quick wit and smarts help when seeking him out as The Leviathan speaks in riddles. Answer correctly, he will offer his help. Answer wrong, abandon all hope of seeing daylight again.

Sirens are 'cousins' of the Mer-people and for centuries have lured unsuspecting fishermen and sailors to their untimely demise to the jagged rocks. There hypnotically beautiful, yet haunting song can captivate even the strongest willed man.
Only the Mer-people can get close enough to a Siren without being drawn in by the daunting melody. The Mer-people posses a special amulet which nullifies the effect of The Siren's Song. Obtain it, and you too may gain audience with the beautiful sirens.
For what? The Sirens, if persuaded, can tell you of a way to gain access to The Isle of Filor. Tread carefully, traveler.
